007 First Light - Gameplay Deep Dive Coming on Sept 3rd
Full disclosure, I'm a huge fan of James Bond. I've seen every movie, read the books, and I've always loved the action and adventure present in anything related to 007. So, I have been closely following 007: First Light, the upcoming Bond game from IO Interactive, ever since its announcement tease several years ago. IO feels like the perfect studio to tackle this game, as their work on the Hitman series has shown they understand how to craft an open ended level that allows players to complete their objective in their own way.
We got our first look at the game this summer through a story trailer that showed off a young James earring his place as a double 0 agent. The trailer is fantastic, but it's mainly focused on story and setting, and it was difficult to tell what was gameplay and what was a cutscene. If you haven't seen that video, you can check it out below and get hyped for yourself.
007: First Light - Announcement Trailer
Thankfully, we won't have to wait much longer to get a look at what 007: First Light will feel like to play. Sony has just announced that a State of Play stream, focused on First Light gameplay, is taking place on September 3rd! It promises a deep dive into gameplay so hopefully we will get a very detailed look at the game, and a showcase of what IO has in store for us when the game ships next year.
We have embedded the livestream video below, so feel free to come back here on Wednesday Sept 3rd to watch along with us, or follow the video link to watch on YouTube. We can't wait to see how this one is shaping up, and we'll share our impressions of the game after the stream. Stay locked in with Gameminr.com for all the latest.
