BALL x PIT 'Regal Update' Launches on Jan 26: Two New Heroes, 8 Balls, and it's All Free!

2025 Indie breakout BALL x PIT, the addictive brick-breaking roguelite where you smash monster hordes in endless pits, just teased its first free major update coming next week!. Announced yesterday via tweet, The Regal Update launches January 26th on all platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox, Switch, Switch 2, and even Xbox Game Pass.

This "class up the joint" patch pumps fresh royalty into the chaos, with Devolver Digital hyping even more ball-bouncing mayhem.

Royal Riches: Key Additions Breakdown

• 2 New Characters: The Carouser (spinning ball orbits for orbital destruction) and The Falconer (commands falcon buddies for aerial assists), they both look like great additions to the cast.
• 8 New Balls: It's time to expand your arsenal and unlock new evolutions.
• New Passives: Game-changing buffs to tweak your runs.
• Mystery Surprise: Devs tease "a nice surprise you’re going to love", but we'll have to wait for it to unlock on launch day!

A Perfect Way to Start the New Year

Ball x Pit, was one of my most played games last year, and I'm one of those players that has already beaten it twice and is itching for some new content to unlock. It's a perfect handheld game, on either Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 or the Steam Deck, so if you own either of those devices and haven't tried it yet, make sure you check it out.
