Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming September 4th!

After what seems to be an eternity for Hollow Knight fans, we finally have an official release date for Silksong, and it's coming much sooner than any of us thought. Team Cherry just released their 'Special Announcement' trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong and in addition to some great details, which we will get to in a second, it ended with the news that Silksong is set to release on September 4! We're assuming 2025. On the Team Cherry X account it was announced that Silksong will be coming 'to all platforms' on September 4th, and day one on Game Pass.

Now, on to the trailer, which you can watch above if you would rather experience it first hand. We were treated to some gorgeous hand drawn visuals, with what felt like a dozen or more different environments. One of the taglines for the game is 'Ascend' and there were several instances in the trailer that showed Hornet 'Ascending' and high speed. After burrowing into the depths for Hollow Knight, it looks like we'll be heading the opposite direction this time.

In all aspects the gameplay footage is a feast for the eyes, showcasing Hornet's highly acrobatic moves as she navigates a beautiful array of environments and uses her agility in combat. The movement is fast, with Hornet leaping, dashing, and spinning through intricate level design that promises both challenge and secrets galore. The trailer specifically calls out over 40 boss fights, each with their own unique mechanics, as well as over 200 enemies to battle.

While it has certainly taken time, and I'm sure it was a difficult process for the team, Team Cherry's commitment to quality is evident in every frame. The hand-drawn art style remains breathtaking, with detailed backgrounds that breathe life into every environment and enemy we were shown. We were also treated to several tricky looking battles, but the combat is as fluid as ever, with Hornet's needle slicing through foes in a ballet of precision and timing.

As someone who’s followed this journey closely, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and almost disbelief. Whether you're a veteran of Hollow Knight or a newcomer to the series, Hollow Knight: Silksong looks set to deliver an unforgettable adventure. Mark your calendars for September 4, and stay tuned to GameMinr.com for our full review when the game launches. The wait is almost over, and it’s going to be worth every second.
