Ball X Pit Sells 1 Million Copies, Outlines Plan for Three Free Updates in 2026!
Devolver Digital's absurd ball-pit roguelite BALL x PIT just smashed 1 million copies sold across PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch, and Switch 2, proving chaos and balls always mix well. To celebrate, developer Kenny Sun and Devolver unveiled three major free content updates rolling out throughout 2026, packed with fresh hunters (characters), balls, passives, evolutions, buildings, and more pit-shaking surprises.
The 2026 Roadmap: More Balls, More Pits
All three updates will be free to owners, adding more content to an already addictive and consuming game. Just when you think you've gotten out, they pull you back in!
As seen in the trailer, here are the expected updates:
- Regal Update (January 2026): High-society hunters join the fray to crash your ball pit parties.
- Shadow Update (April 2026): Deception masters slink in, bringing new sneaky synergies.
- Naturalist Update (July 2026): 'Hunters that deal in Extreme necessity'? Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of that one.
These drops are just what I was hoping for, I recently finished the New Game+ mode and unlocked the final evolution so I thought my time with Ball X Pit was coming to a close. With these new updates on the way, and the first one hitting in January, I'm already thinking about jumping back in and reworking my city layout.
If you haven't given Ball X Pit a shot yet, now is the time. It's great on Steam Deck and Switch 2, but it's also on Game Pass Ultimate, so if you have a sub you've got nothing to lose, except time!
